There is cosmetic rust one spot near the windshield, the other on the rear passenger door. I replaced the original with a period correct Blaupunkt AM/FM/Long Wave / Short Wave radio. I got a replacement and it works great now.Īlong with the car will come a box of spare parts including the original head, spare diesel pump, belt cover and the original AM radio. The gas gauge did not work when I got the car and after a bug hunt and standing on my head under the dash discovered it was some sort of transistor. The dashboard was cracked and kinda ugly so I got a nice fitted dash cover that looks just dandy in my humble opinion. With the buzz box I have never had this problem. This is important since if you leave grease in the lines after running it, it coagulates I'm told it is really hard to start again without flushing the lines. The car has a buzzer box so if you forget to switch back to diesel after your drive it reminds you. Once up to temp over 130C you hit the switch and start burning diesel. You always start and stop the car using Diesel fuel. That is the best ! You just need to filter it through a 5 micron bag filter and put it in the grease tank.
I get most after Thanksgiving after folks fry turkeys then want to ditch their gently used oil. My friends and family all know I burn grease so they bring their waste oil to me.
